Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

He left us without a striker to start a season with and didn't resolve the right hand side issues in the team over three years.

We still need starting RB, RW & ST to this day , never mind a back up for two of these positions.

The decision was correct.

the guy was hamstrung, we needed near every position apart from GK improving and had to minimise spend and sell our best asset each season

feel like the Doak figure is off the mark

out of contract next year and never played in the top flight. but he is one that’s been earmarked as a top player for a while

i reckon around 15mil plus some add ons might do the trick

he’ll want to leave and in the end they’ll need something to offset the big spends they’ll have this summer on the likes of Wirtz

I thought he was out of contract next year too but his contract ends in 2027.

I’m not convinced he’s out of contract next year. I had a look for his contract details online and some sites were suggesting he agreed a new contract to come into place on whatever birthday it was that allowed him to sign for more than 3 years. Some sites have 2026 and others 2027 for his contract end date.

Got to agree though. £25-30m does seem on the steep side

The annoying thing about them is they can recoup quickly.

They’ll get £60m for Nunez, £30m for Elliott. They’d even get good money for their back up left back, for Quansah, probably good money for some of their youngsters (Morton?), just because of who they play for

Where did you see this?

All I've found online is that he signed a "long term deal" in 2023

It’s the RS tax everyone happily pays, you know.. their equivalent of the Everton Discount we give other teams when they buy our players on the cheap.
