Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Beto Vs DCL … think we’d be mad to let Beto go .. what can’t speak can’t lie and his goal record since January is impressive and DCL been injured again . One other thing and this is just my opinion but Ferguson is poor . He seems slow // I wouldn’t like him playing for us next year as I think he’s just not up to it . He’s not a striker in my mind that would elevate us up another 4/5 places in the league . And I’m an Irish Toffee !!

…slowly but surely we’re finding stuff out;

Doucoure offered a new deal but rejected; Not here next season
Young offered new deal but rejected (apparently); Not here next season.

2 players the club wanted to stay will now have to be replaced, one being a regular starter.

On the assumption side, following today’s statements it’s difficult to see DCL staying. Gueye, Keane and loanees is guesswork.

Sounds as though the club wanting them to stay was conditional on lower wages or less playing time. The club is getting quite good at offering contracts people don’t want.

Club Wanted them to stay on reduced terms and most likely both would be on
The bench most weeks. So the club won’t be to bothered, they had a wage they thought was fair, the players didn’t so they and the club move on

…yep, I think that’s an important point. New regime, seems like there’s no intention of signing players at any cost.

You’d feel sure there’s an offer on the table for Gueye, wonder how that compares to his current deal. Every player will have a value.

Well we know it was a reduction because they could have taken the option to extend on the same terms and didn't. I doubt it was an enormous reduction we offered to be honest though, the club will have an idea of what he would find acceptable and won't waste their time negotiating something they know he won't agree to, and his respectful comments today suggest he didn't feel the club tried to take the pee out of him with the offer. I think his interview the other day about salary was just him effectively saying 'someone else is going to pay me decent money, don't tell me I need to lower my demands because I know what's on the table elsewhere'.
Spot on.
Hope he gets everything wants wherever he ends up.
Just glad it's not here.
Best all round a respectful thanks & good luck.

I'd imagine they wanted two years at the same money,which realistically was never going to happen.

I'd rather bench players be taken up by youngsters looking to get into the side and make an impact, rather than players at the end of their careers .
