Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think you'd be surprised. He's still a good age (only 23) he isn't earning a fortune here and his book value is only about £4 million, so we don't need a huge transfer fee for him to make it viable. There will be plenty of takers I would imagine, the question would just be whether they're at the level he'd want.

….he can’t defend and that will be the case at whatever level he plays, it will be interesting if there is any interest in him.

Better full backs completely transform the way the team can play and means we don’t have to have talentless cloggers in the side because they can run.
But you still Potentially have them, if we can’t change 6/7 positions in
One summer. 2 new attacking full backs doesn’t Change a number 10
That’s can’t pass the and doesn’t score or create, doesn’t change Harrison on the right wing or a slow left footer in McNeil, who’s not good enough or the fact we have a poor centre midfielder in James garner.

All them potions are bigger issues than Myko this summer imo, be great to change everything, but that’s not happening this summer

Can’t believe you watch us and think full
Backs is the most important position, it’s important don’t get me wrong. But number 10 A right winger and centre midfield should be the 3 positions we should be putting the majority of our money into
Every position is important, otherwise you're always trying to fill holes

Three main things: first the big losses of 2022/23 will roll out after this season. It's hard to say exactly how much PSR headroom we will have based on last two accounts, especially as this season's accounts will only come out next year. But loss should be much less than last year and we know club was PSR compliant then, with the 22/23 losses.

More importantly club can calculate the increased turnover from BMD into it. Club should have 60+ million bigger turnover.

And thirdly, there are quite a few contracts finishing which both frees money from wages but in a few cases also from amortization costs.

So as long as most of the business is done after June there should be headroom.

Finishing 13th ~(if it happens) is worth an additional £7mill approx on what we made in merit payments last season.

We have to start our business early

This is just as important as the identity of who we're after/who we let go. We've known for months we were staying up, there is absolutely no excuse for us not to be well prepared.

That doesn't mean we'll just get our targets without any issues but if we don't have a clear idea of our plan for the summer, or haven't done proper groundwork, then you have to ask what on earth has been going on the last few months.

People may not like it, but Kyle Walker Peters on a free, Charly at £12mil and a left back to be compete with Myko could all come to under £20mil and immediately address some glaring issues. For as much as I want to be significantly better as soon as possible, we aren’t in the position to do that unless the scouting network go god-mode. You could then focus most of the budget and loan market on the traditionally more expensive positions that we also desperately need - RW, ST, CM and probably another CB.

In the summer after that, you continue to build and maybe then invest more significantly in the full backs, knowing you then have high quality rotation players behind the acquisitions.

This is all just ‘I’d do this’ and ‘we should do that’ talk that will probably not happen, but it’s just to highlight how shrewd we’re going to have to be to get what we need and plan for the future squad.

Again, it may not be glamorous enough for some, but the scars of being docked points and pissing money up the wall on [Poor language removed] still linger in my mind.
