Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

All depends what the manager wants out of the list of free agents makes most sense. If moyes wants us to wait till jan then that is fine with me, not saying i would be even happy with it. I wanted more players this window even if was another striker to work on that was young but had little experience and something we could work on. Would hopefully be like king we signed for 3 gk spot cover but no real plans to play unless injuries
Vardy made sense. The only thing signing Bamford would be good for is to see Zat’s head explode.

Tyrique George’ move to Roma collapsed. Wouldn’t pay the fee apparently. If you’re a Roma supporter, and watching your owners other club plough in 140 million by completing another signing on deadline day, you’d be mightily pi$$ed off. People could say different leagues and different revenue streams and TV money means we can spend more etc etc, but supporters won’t see it like that. They’ll just see TFG signing off cheques here while keeping things fairly tight at Roma.

If the roles were reversed here, we’d all be livid and have major concerns with the owners let’s be honest.
To be honest I don't see it like that. It's obvious that each club is a separate entity. TFG has also shown this summer there will be little cooperation on the market. And I don't see people in Rome talking much about this situation, unless the difference in results btw the 2 clubs becomes too big.

With ffp, all an owner can do is avoid bankruptcy, invest in structures etc. The money you spend on the market is your money. 20 years ago it was different.
So, it's clear that Everton, being a premier league club with much less debt than Roma, can spend more.
Our "premier league" is the champions league (and the new stadium, but I'm afraid we won't see it in the near future). If we get there, it's a different music. We're been out of the cl for too many years.
But the good news for us is that ALL Italian clubs find themselves in the same situation. There are healthy clubs (napoli, atalanta, como), but no team is currently able to create a gap so big you can't bridge in a season or two.

In the future though, I think Germany, France, Italy and Spain should join forces and create a common league for the first two levels, with national leagues still active only for level 3-9/10 of the pyramid. The actual super league is the premier league and I was surprised to see English teams basically damaging themselves by agreeing to Perez's superleague.
Instead, continental teams face the risk of financial irrelevance, and need a drastic decision to stay relevant.

the gap btw the Premier League and the other 4 main leagues keeps widening. Sooner or later this problem will have to be addressed somehow.

If Antonio trains with the first team squad and Moyes thinks his levels are close to his best then I would take him as a third choice striker. Vardy is surely too old now and not sure who else there is

Find it hard making sense out of any of them really just not sure what the club will do. Just do find strange the window just closed and was not a link or maybe will come out we did try for a striker. Is who is left now and if the manager did want to try for any of the names could see him and another word hate wanting prem experience. So would leaves us bamford Antonio and Iheanacho

Dont think it ever will if honest just to much money and power here in england, will only get bigger aswell. Is why even mid table prem teams can outbid top teams in oher leagues. Also is why alot of the other leagues want to sell players to england becuase of the prem tax

Getting on a bit.
