We will get another goalkeeper who is second choice at a League 2 team….

Thats fine. I'm not sure how you can as clearly Moyes is even saying himself that hes been rejected many times.

So the mass number of targets hes referring to werent the right ones, or else they'd have signed.

Money got us deducted a lot of points. It’s a finite resource because of regulations, that’s needs to be allocated with a great deal of thought.

And the club employ people to take care of that mate, don’t see why people here get wound about it really, you have no say at the end of the day.

If we didn’t need a RB and CM, I’d be very happy with Soucek as a different kind of attacking midfielder to what we already have.

Sure, he’s older, but if Moyes thinks he’s within our reach, would be confident in him, and crucially wouldn’t treat him as a fixture in the starting XI (and I don’t think he would) then I’d be okay with it.

Options are key. We can’t ask for a rounded squad and then - when the ‘less fashionable’ but nonetheless useful, player is bought - panic he’ll be considered essential to every XI. We have to trust that - with genuine choice in the squad - that circumstances, and the opposition, will dictate our XI. Though I can understand how years and years of living without options can cultivate fear of an unchanging, pragmatic, XI. That’s behind us now, I would hope.

Anyway, for now I’m gonna treat Soucek as a welcome addition and assume we can fill the other holes in the squad, too.
