Its clearly incompetent to give a list of names for Hammond to negotiate without:

A: Sounding out their interest pre-window
B: Knowing their clubs' valuations

Or do you think this was a competent approach?

Interesting comment by Moyes in his presser, saying that lots of players they tried to get earlier declined to join Everton. In some way that eases the criticism that many may have thought that whoever is responsible for making signings have been slacking or were incompetent. Finally he said we cannot afford top strikers at 40 - 50 mill each.

Unless my hearing is going, he said can't afford 60-70m on a striker.

Mate this isn't gonna happen now. A 'proven' striker runs you £50m+ these days..
