I’ve seen it before when clubs buy a load of seemingly good players and end up in the Champions league, like Villa or Newcastle.

This whole ‘look at Forest buying good players - that is clearly a terrible idea’ narrative is just bananas.

In fairness mate, I'm not against Brownhill, and depending on the wage you are correct. But it's not unreasonable to ask quite how we have ended up here.

Oh I know. But the fact of the matter is we are here. We’re now very much into “get some squad fillers in or we will be in a relegation battle” territory in this window. A disgrace that we’ve ended up here, and heads should roll for it.

I don't understand the question/statement, in honesty.

There are people on here who would seemingly chew their arm off for Douglas Luiz. He's on loan. I'm excited by Jack Grealish. He's on loan. You can argue neither are the best players for their parent Clubs, but both Juve and City are leagues and leagues ahead of Forest and us, so it's relative.

As for other really good players who want a move/are open to a move, Isak is one. He's pretty good, I reckon. Fofana's open to a move, and he looks like he has potential.

But as I say, I don't understand your question and I don't agree with the statement that all of the best players have moved already.

None of the players mentioned yet to move have publicly indicated they want to come to Everton.

In hindsight, would using Tom King’s wages to top Tete’s contract offer up by £10k have been a better use of our limited funds? Just a musing.

Take it one further, they could've gave him (or Brownhill) the 4 million we gave Bournemouth for Travers and got Gunn on a free.

A club struggling for money doesn’t lash £12 million on Grealishes wages. It’s more likely we know we need 4-5 players and the budget/PSR room needs is tight if we want them all

Transfer Committee can not agree the way forward on targets and how to spend the money we have left. Also can not agree if they want youth or experience.

They both seem pretty positive normally but worry setting in.

If you move away from the DoF model, which we have, then the only discussion should be who the manager wants, and then a financial decision from up above on how much we have to spend and how much is acceptable for each target. There shouldn’t be disagreements over targets in this model, otherwise we have just re-branded the DoF model as this weird committee of people that have very different objectives.

Makes a bit of a mockery of binning our actual Director of Football, who, on balance, did ok and missed out on the reward of doing his job once we were out of the financial mire.

Everything changed but nothing has changed.

There is no down side for Forest fans though - they’ve just had 30 years in the Championship. They could plod on in the bottom half of the Prem for 3 years and get relegated (like say West Brom or Norwich do), or they could actually go for it and see where it takes them.

Framed differently, we are currently choosing not to allocate enough of the money we've got to give Brownhill what he wants. Or better still, Brownhill is asking for £150k a week + a sign on of £5m and we've told him to jog on because we don't value him that highly [and nor does anybody else at the moment hence he is without a Club].

Struggling to find the ££ suggests we have no money. If we believe the talking heads, we've had a c.£40m turned down for a 19-year-old only last week!

Hysteria breeds hysteria, and there are some people earning money off the back of it.

Ok... 30 years ago Chelsea - who were an up/down club suddely started lashing money at players - Vialla, Zola, Lebouff, Guillet etc I thought at the time, why arent we showing that ambition?

Of course, in 2003, they were broke and we all know what happened next.

But now Forest are doing the same, after one succesful season when they got into Europe.

Now, some of these players dont want to come, we are just not attractive club to represent.

I really believed this summer was going to be a game changer and its anything but.

Everyone seems to be making acquisitions that seem sensible.

I am not saying our signings are bad but they are more risky than most.
