He'll have us at least mid table. The issue with Moyes is always that he constructs limitations on the club's he's at but when expectations are raised, he struggles to meet them.
You imagine the aim for TFG was to allow Moyes to transition from relegation to mid table and towards Europe, but if they want to push beyond 7th/8th, they might need a new man.
If Dyche had us a few points clearer than we were when they arrived Moyes would never have been back here at Everton and we'd now have TFG preferred manager in charge.
You have to assume that Moyes knows he's on borrowed time here unless he gets us top half.
Our form under
Moyes extrapolated over the season would have had us in 8th place and right on the very outside looking in on European spots. And while I’m sure
Moyes wanted higher caliber signings to allow us to kick on and compensate for a dip in form, our squad isn’t worse than what he had at his disposal last season. For me Moyes moaning at this point tells me about his ambitions for us, which is higher than the form he had us under last season. The different in expectations to what Dyche had is incredibly positive alone.
I know based on Moyes’s history that we’ll reach a point where we need to move on, but for the time being he’s given us everything we could have hoped for to this point. Let’s see how we kick on, but no doubt we need a few impact signings to keep up and he knows it.
