Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

You're responding to someone who truly believes Harrison Armstrong is their neighbour. Someone who has his tongue up and inside every orafice of Moyes.

Someone claiming to be a former red & happy to call Evertonians reds. Someone who has taken a few shots from other posters this window for their supriority complex.

Nice post though.

Diarra was seemingly a Thelwell target.

We'll have to see the comparison of KDH & Diarra over the season.

We have NO right winger.
We have NO right back.

Im not sure how much more linear you would want the line to point :)

Do you think a team would be better off having quality right sided players...OR to improve the stronger areas of the team.

Doesnt take a wizard to cast spells on some...just Davie Moyes.

If one CM is left footed and one centre mid is right footed.

If one CM is more attack minded and one centre mid is more defensively minded.

Where do you think they will spend most of their time? Youre using Keane and Scholes who were occupying different spaces to compare with KDH, Gana and Garner?

Do you not think this is why KDH was pushed further forwards vs Roma?

I do. Because when you watch the centre yes the positions on paper can become meaningless but over the course of a few games they will naturally operate in different spaces.

There lies the issue.

Its gone beyond the point of no return now in terms of big money signings.

We either make a couple by the end of the summer OR we dont.

We cant buy lower quality. Id rather we finish 12th with no right hand side than 10th wasting money we could use in the next couple of windows.
I’m not suggesting we buy unacceptable quality. There will be plenty of reasonable quality improvements we could bring in for that right hand side without spending 50m+ on an unproven 19 year old, someone with TP rights or sell on clause issues, or a guy that seemingly does not want to join us. For me we have target some players incorrectly as others have said. There is till time left and the last week in the transfer window will be incredibly busy I would imagine. The effects of this will hopefully be lessened to a degree if we win on Monday

After only one match into the season? Amazing to draw so many conclusions from close to no information!
Sunderland have a chance to stay up, giving that Burnley are certs to go down. The crowd up there are worth a few points.. Leeds are similar but they will be fighting from the word ho to stay up.

Wolves and West Ham and the 3 promoted sides.... I think Brentford (no Mbeumo, Midfielder to Arsenal) and more importantly No Thomas Franks, along with Bournemouth..... I think we finish well above them 7 this year thankfully.

I would think that if we get a drubbing down the right hand side tomorrow then clubs and players will make it even more expensive for us as they know we’re in a pickle.
I’d also think it would make us a bit more unattractive for talent to want to come overall to us.
I don't think we'll get drubbed, although we need a pure fullback type signing , Jake will do the job while we look for additions

Don’t think he’s saying we’re not gonna sign a RW winger like, just suggesting we are gonna have to spend big due to the crazy fees being paid which is understandable. Paddy looked like he’d had a skin full there as well tbh😂
Why wait so long then? Why put all our eggs in the PL experienced basket? Why not get someone attainable then try to get someone who will move the dial. Especially now back ups are going elsewhere? I am baffled with Dibling waiting isn't going to make the deal cheaper its going to make us more desperate because we clearly won't take a risk on any player without PL experience in that position. So now we either over pay for a 19 year old or end up with dross, great strategy.

Because it’s about supply and demand. The greater the demand the higher the fee. If we say we are desparate then the selling club will think they have the upper hand and will increase price.
I really feel this forum is quite the beneficial educational experience for Matty he learns basic principles of economics and others enlightening fun facts

As we get closer to the end of the window you'd expect the transfer dominos to start dropping that can make previously unavailable players acquirable after other clubs have made deals to be in new players
Once wissa moves to Newcastle cos Brentford has just signed his replacement I think isak can move and we can see a larger movement as a result of that.

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Moyes go in for Holjund

Have both been on the list of players the club has wanted for a long time we even wanted kdh in jan couldnt get the deal done, then grealish has been talks since may . So not signed as a panic at all have been players we gave wanted. Agree on that moyes is not a perfec manager and has made some bad choices but to say sogned grealish to keep us fans on side. I dont think would have even been in his head. It is a risk but a player like grealish who was available on loan at this time is a chance we should take. Could easily take us up a level if he is motivated and get him back to his best. Something we would find very hard to even get to his quality on his day this window. Moyes is under massive pressure this window is not like he has bk anymore. With the new owners he must push on this team or will be out

Which leads to the question;

"Why were the senior management not aware of what right sided players were attainable since January"

Agreed

Can also make previously players available, unavailable as less time for teams to find replacements. Waiting until the last minute is OK for one or 2 players to add depth into the squad...on our situation is purely and simply gambling when we have our right hand side as it is.

I don’t think Moyes comments about us working ‘desperately’ worked in our favour either. Such a rookie mistake from an experienced manager.
I think Moyes has a tendency where he's overly candid, wearing his heart on his sleeve , which admirable, also does himself a disservice in this cutthroat game of business where your comments can betray your intent and leave you vulnerable
