Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Clagging up your squad with any average and uninspirational players you can get hold of before 1st August, just so you can say we're ready for the season's start.

Now THAT'S pure ale house.

NOBODY has suggested we do that, that’s a scenario that’s been made up by the ostrich’s who think waiting until the end of the window means we get a better quality of player. It doesn’t and has historically never meant that for us or anyone else.

I respect that. Some on here seem to forget that we're allowed to disagree on matters of opinion: what makes this game so great.

World Class has come to mean something different recently, especially in the football sphere of the internet where every podcast debates whether or not elite player X is world class or not (usually not allowed to be until you win a major trophy, for some reason).

If world class means getting in the squad of a world XI, then Grealish isn't.

If it means being a top top Champions League level, title chasing player, then I personally think he is (or was).

The is/was is key of course. Down to him to prove that he still is. I rate him taking this project on as a way of doing so. Not many would opt to join us, much easier to join a Napoli or a Spurs
Grealish I think will have a good season for us like Iliman last season so I think he'll be a hit. But for the option fee of 50 million I'd not be so sure about converting the loan to a permanent

People love kicking the can and making excuses.

The truth is too hard to deal with.

Anyone know if arnau martinez would be good for us. Right back from girona in spain. Palace were meant to be signing him according to the press at the start of august for around £10m but hes still at girona. 22 years old.
