Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

They were largely crap for us and didn’t contribute much latterly tbh. AFCB have lost their GK, CB pairing, LB and starting LW. I’d be gutted if that was us.

They have a model that is based around selling players though so it’s not as if they were desperately trying to hang onto all those players. They will have been planning last summer to sell them, so that’s why they’ll be absolutely fine. We are just outdated in our thinking a football club and a fan base.

Hang on - they have the reds at the pit tonight with their squad still crippled, despite the fact that 'they will have been planning last summer' for this eventuality, apparently?

You'd actually consider that to be poor planning then, no?

You’re not playing the game properly. Brentford, Bournemouth, Brighton are well run clubs that make no mistakes. Everton are a complete shambles. Don’t let facts take you away from this binary position.

Indeed. Its alright for AFC Bournemouth to start their season with still lots of business to be done apparently, but not Everton.. 🤔

We’ll see how all those expertly run clubs traverse building a new stadium and making the leap from PL also ran to trophy winning European regular (which is the brief for Everton). Or will they still be flipping their balance sheets stuck in mid table in 20 years time (and that’s as a best case scenario, wouldn’t surprise me if Brentford were in trouble this season)

And they just beat us 3/0 😂
Tbf is our starting 11 looked like this on Monday, I'd be bricking it.

Clubs need to make a profit, but it's been turned into a virtue for its own sake using Brighton and now Bournemouth as well.

You don't win anything continuously selling your best players. And look at the premium charged by the top clubs for some very average players, if the Saudis don't buy them first.

Moyes pulled the plug on signings in January knowing we’d made such a good start under him. He wanted to save money for the summer
Well let's hope he doesn't regret it, because at this stage we haven't spent a huge amount...I know there is another couple of weeks, and hopefully we can sign some decent players to add depth to the squad.

Really curious what CMs are being looked at by the club. If Moyes says there are other priorities above RB, then RW (obviously) and CM must be included there, but we've been surprisingly extremely light on links since we early in the window with Luiz and Hackney. Been so much less publicised than RW.
