Because they wait until we have gone as high as we seemed willing to naturally, then the try to call our bluff.
Because we’re absolute morons who left it until August to address a priority position, and have shown our hand with 3 bids in 24 hours. They know we have the money and they’ve bumped the price up by £10m seemingly overnight. This ridiculous strategy of waiting until the last few weeks of the window has fell flat on its face, to the surprise of nobody who actually has a clue.
Who are the other targets I wonder.
This kid only became a target 2 weeks ago, so I’m certainly intrigued to see who they add to it now.

Go get Fellows or Doak, a right back and defensive midfield.
We did this years ago, spent too big on too little which left us without money to buy players in key positions.
