Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

Before we have our first summer transfer related panic attack , it's important to remember that the links circulating right now are from dodgy sites that concoct rumors for clicks and there wasn't any concrete links before we signed Alacarez in January, as the Friedkins seem to operate with less insider leaks in regards to transfers

Richy back on loan i take that deal
Even if it's not on loan, I'd be fairly sure TFG would structure any deal heavily on appearances/goals.
And he might not have a huge resale value but the difference in 14th and 8th is about 17m pounds.
So if he plays and scores, we likely get a big chunk back in league position earnings
If he doesnt play we don't have much outlay.
The only major issue would be playing and not scoring and that's a chance with any forward.

In our current state, we dont really have a shot at a player like Richarlison, we only have a chance because of sentiment.
We should take it.

I think he is a good player but there certainly is a lot of extra hype as he is English.
Only 1 good season all be it in a poor team, but he is the star man so they play to his attributes.
But £30m isn't big money for a striker and even if it didn't work out we could get most of it back through loan fees and a sale.
He has only got 12 goals and there are numerous players from relegated teams scoring double figures that didn't go on to bigger and better things.
Morris with Luton, Pukki with Norwich and Dennis with Watford to name a few in recent years.
He does have youth on his side and I think his style would suit our fanbase but I wouldn't be too disappointed if we don't get him.
Great post

Hes quick, strong and doesnt mind throwing his weight around and putting himself about.

Aside from him they have little threat so he's probably working much harder on the pitch than forwards from more established clubs.

To me, it looks a deal where if he did well we could flip him for £60mil in a season. Based upon him getting in the England squad and scoring a decent number of goals.

These risks have to be taken if were going to step up.

I'll be honest and say I haven't seen enough of him at Ipswich to really know how good he is now, but I think it's clear that he's seen as being in a totally different bracket to the names you've mentioned. He was certainly very highly rated by City when he was younger, and the fact they put in a buyback clause at the level they did suggests they didn't really lose that faith. Whether he'll push on from here and become a proper star I don't know, but you'd think there's a reason the top clubs are interested in a way that they haven't been in other players like you say.

Of course we would. He's a squad player for a club that's below us in the league!

I think a fit Richarlison with a good coach and good players around him gets a goal every two games.
I mean, we can look at his career and see that he's never done that at any point so it seems like a stretch i'll be honest. My point isn't that he's rubbish though, he's not and I loved him when he was here, but we would very much have a shot at signing a player like him without sentimentality being involved, we quite literally already have once.
