Summer Transfer Window 2025 Thread

I think if you’d have asked people at the start of the window to pick 3 positions in our first choice eleven that needed strengthening, the consensus would have been RB, CM and RM.

Feels quite disappointing as we haven’t done any of that yet.
I agree, at least two of those need to be addressed before that first game I think.

On the other hand, the LB and ST positions would also be high on the list as squad priorities and we have addressed both of those with young players with high potential. It's not been all useless thus far thankfully.

Current squad minus a handful of semi serious injuries across the season = bottom quarter of table.

If the window shut tomorrow, then Branthwaite and Ndiaye got injured until January, nobody would expect the team to be able to put up any kind of a fight until then.

Moyes must be livid at what's going on right now.
Luckily it isn't, and luckily it shuts having only played 3 Premier League games in the meantime..

Mate - once again - we have enough of a squad to field Premier League sides in August.

Disagree all you want - but that is a fact.
We have 3 winnable games before the window shuts.

Nine points we risk throwing away through our current failure to add even one probable game one starter at this point in the window.

Young and Harrison started our final game last season with Doucoure, DCL, Broja, Virginia, Begovic subs.

We are weaker now than then even if I am generous and count Armstrong as an addition.

Now that IS a fact!

But the idea was always to replace these players wasn’t it? Like I’m sure it doesn’t need explaining that, when people said they wanted Doucoure and Harrison out they meant actually bring in upgrades on them? Not that we should or could afford to literally let them walk out and bring in nobody
Of course they need replacing but not having them yet isnt the disaster picture you are painting.
One could argue that the Doucoure position is covered by Alcaraz and Armstrong, although I think Armstrong is more suited to a bit deeper. I think we will make 2 to 3 more signings RW, CM and possibly RB and 3 loans. The loans will be late and will cover a number of positions. Could see a Grealish and/or Richi return to cover fwd positions then maybe a CM loan with option/obligation.
Could also see another young CB (pref left sided) purchased to cover the inevitable which may happen next summer.

Definitely not a fact, and Id actually suggest we risk throwing away 3 points. If we cant beat Leeds with the same squad we ended last year on(top half under Moyes), thats on the manager and players. Wolves is more of the same as they continue to shed their best players.

I dont consider Doucoure and Harrison better than Alcaraz and McNeil, and those two replaced them down the stretch.
