We don't discount it, of course, it would just be relatively unusual for a player to be ready to make the leap from the Greek league to being first choice at a Premier League club. Not impossible, of course, but unusual. That being said, if that's where the data is pointing us, then fair enough.

This lad actually had a v brief spell at Inter when he was v young, so clearly someone has seen something in him at some point

he's got experience in European comps too so hasn't just played in the Greek league

Seems strange that we’re willing to spend money on a backup GK when there’s plenty available for free (do think Travers would be a very reliable backup though).

Maybe we are starting to buy strategically now, instead of constantly patching the squad with short term stopgaps.
