We are not paying that but they are obligatory in Spain so they have slapped that. What they are willing to sell for is another matter.

IMO, La Liga release clauses are only relevant if they seem too low, then it's a good opportunity. Barry's release clause seems to have been close to what EFC value him. They have tried to negotiate it but it looks like they end up paying the clause.
