Maresca left around 12 first teamers out of his squad last season, and it will likely be more this season, unless they hold a car boot sale in last week of the window. Problem they have is that not many will be able to match Chelsea’s wages so could end up unable to sell and unlike before, they are restricted to a maximum no of loans, so gonna have players making a decent wage but making no career.

Exactly...But as long as agents keep getting their cut, they'll keep flogging players to them. It's a whole new level of scum tactics.

Webster is a better defender than Keane.

If so only marginally. And has as many own goals in his 6 PL seasons as Keane has in 10. Keane is also a scoring machine, with 16 goals and 10 assists, and FREE whereas this rando from Brighton would cost a transfer fee.

I dunno. I'm old-school. Give me defensively-sound defenders any day. Get better attackers for the attacking.

I get your point, though. But if a new full back is good going forward, he really has to be able to do the defensive basics too.

I can't agree more once you have a solidly defensive core its easier to get results and be more expansive up front. Last 4 years its our defence that kept us up and the leaky defences with the managers who had a philosophy that went down.

There is absolutely no doubting Keane finishing abilities,he's excellent in that regard but it's everything else he's awful at.

Need 3 first 11 players and 3 more for depth imo. RW, RB, CM as the priorities.

I’m ok with Beto getting a real run with better creativity supporting him. He produced for half a season when given a chance. Sign someone with potential to challenge him. Seems that’s the plan for Barry.

Wasn't his brother a striker? Whatever happened to him, did they do a "Face/Off" and in fact we have Will Keane pretending to be a CB??
