Imo it would be awesome if we can land Costa. Get 2 seasons out of him, take some heat off DCL and gives a little breathing space to bring other younger signings through. Most importantly he would be a good fit.
But I think it will only happen if Brands thinks it will work, cant see him being overridden.

I'm not sure how we are getting 2 seasons out of him when Atletico just tried that and got 5 league goals

We were not we were 12 points off top 6 and 18 off top 4, and that's after clocking out from the end of November until March. If we maintain our home form from the last 2 months of the season then there is no reason why we can't go unbeaten at home winning the majority of those games, we do however need to improve away, the gap is bridgable especially with Arsenal Chelsea and United all in full self destructing mode.

But every team goes on runs of 8-10 games where they pick up a load of wins, the only teams that don’t are the ones relagated. You can’t pick bits of form out and say that we can keep it going for 30 odd games . That’s what makes a quality team isn’t it, we are 8th because we aren’t consistent over the whole season

....it’s Sunday 7th July, and here’s a summary of this morning’s Toffee transfer rumours;

- Le10 Sport report PSG Manager, Thomas Tuchel, still sees Everton’s Idrissa Gueye as a key target despite the arrival of Ander Herrera from Manchester United.

- The Daily Mail say Toffees owner, Farhad Moshiri, has told the club to explore the possibility of signing 30 year old Atletico Madrid striker, Diego Costa.

- According to Calciomercato, Everton are one of a number of sides emerging in the race for Genoa Centre Back, Davide Biraschi. The 25 year old, 5ft 8in defender could be available for €10m.

- Corriere dello Sport suggest Juventus are leaning towards selling 19 year old striker Moise Kean. A €30m bid from Everton has been rejected, and the article again says Kean could be key in Juventus’ negotiations for Ajax’s Matthijs de Ligt.

- Amidst rumours he could leave Everton, Yerry Mina’s agent (his uncle) Jair Mina has told Gol Caracol: “we do not know anything about that. Yerry has a contract with Everton for 5 years and he has only completed the first 7 months”.

- The Star repeat their story suggesting Everton have bid £33m for Celta Vigo’s Uruguayan striker, Maxi Gómez.

- Despite just signing his first professional contract, AllNigeriaSoccer say a host of clubs are keen to take Everton’s 18 year old forward, Korede Adedoyin on loan.
