One thing I'm fairly certain off is we will bring in a winger/wide forward with genuine pace.

It's something Thelwell has been attempting to do the last few seasons, failing on both Kudos and Minteh due to finances - Gnoto was the Poundland option.

Moyes also was the driver behind West Ham buying Bowen, brought in Kudos and wanted to buy Eze before he went to palace in '20 but his board didn't back him financially.

Even at us Moyes showed he'd evolved I to wanting pace out wide or on the wide forward - one of his last signings was Miralles, he also brought in Drenthe and AvDM who both busted out sadly.

I'd expect we'd be in for Fellows at West Brom again as West Brom will be more inclined to sell in the summer if they as expected miss out on promotion

I'd be surprised if we were, he's very much a hug the by line cross into the box style winger and Moyes never really went for that type of player. Can see the interest we had in him whilst DCL was the striker ofc as yeah he suits that - but with Beto or whoever we have coming in it's way more likely to see a striker running the channels and coming in behind.

Good player - but one whose stats are artificially boosted by a system at west brom that entirely focuses on getting him the ball and knocking it into the box.

He's also not at all fast, slower than Ndiaye and Lindstrom - neither of who are burners themselves.

Way more likely we bring in a couple of fullbacks, the young Irish lad at Sunderland as @Nymzee said and my brother reiterated is very much a Moyes fullback - can see him coming in to provide width on the right - similarly I like Nathaniel Brown at Frankfurt - another good young fullback to play the other side, neither would break the bank either - would be in the 10-15m range maximum. Would provide pace and width both sides and possibly sorts the position for 8-9 years.

Lamine Camara would be a name I wouldn't be shocked to see come into the centre, Senegalese team mate of both Ndiaye and Gueye and another who came through the Metz pipeline of young Senegalese players who went on to bigger clubs (currently at Monaco)

Would you bring Ademola back - I would. Doesn't sound like it is going to end well at Atalanta...

Just had to look at which managers he played under - Moyes had been gone around 4 years before he came (also 6 years since Ancelotti joined!) and the whole set up at Everton is somewhat different with the new owners and upper management. I think it would be like coming back to a different club. I am not advocating either way for him to come back or not, but I think it could work if Moyes thought he was someone he could use in his team and I don't think it would be too hard to convince Lookman that any baggage with the club is distant history.

Any reason we are not even talking to Jonathan David?

Perhaps because he has likely informed his agent that he only wants to join a club who are in the Champions League next season (hence delaying a decision for now) and he will want an extortionate singing on fee and wage that will bust our PSR and any chances of being able to afford anyone else but him.

Other than that - probably no reason!

No, some players just hit upon the right club and/or right manager. - Look no further than Harrison and a few other Leeds players under Bielsa who all flopped before and after him.

Think Moise Keane will be similar btw as well, can argue that Pienaar was a bit like that as well, poor at Dortmund, poor at sours, excellent for us both times with Moyes.

Probably because it's been clear for over two years now he was gonna run his contract out in order to get a massive windfall when he moves.

You're looking at a lad whose gonna be getting 10m signing fee and 160-200k per week.

Read somewhere, West Ham are in for him. I remember him stating, he wants prem action not necessarily CL. No harm in testing the waters. He has a decent goal record in their league. I know it sounds ridiculous but we spent 17m on Chermiti.

I think it's pointless mate, very clearly he will be demanding a wage far in excess of what we would offer. Perception in recruiting is important - you throw offers in for players you never have a chance of getting them all you do is either drive the demands or make them feel like 5th option on players you do actually have the ability to recruit.

Much rather see us early on just go for the target we want and who will come and get it done in a professional manner.

That sends a way stronger positive signal about the club than messing around thinking you have a chance or phantom bus type scenarios.

Leave that crap to our past and to the likes of west ham now
