But Dave, have to take chances now and again. Otherwise how can we progress, TBH Coleman was fluke we all know that not many of him grow on trees.
I will refer you to a post made earlier by @brieverton which sums this ridiculous situation up much better than I can...

Have to agree. I'm all for getting players in and a bit of excitement, but anything north of 30m for him makes me feel very uneasy.

In what could be our first signing, it completely goes against the model Brands was/is meant to utilise here and at that fee, he is going to have to make one hell of an impact to justify it.

Brands won't preach or implement a more disciplined model of player trading if wads of cash are thrown in his direction - he'll be like anyone else with other people's (or more accurately the club's) money in that scenario.

I expect the initial fee will be much less but to me this signing would underline the continued lack of discipline and coherency at the club after an admittedly underwhelming shake-up. Moshiri does tend to play to the gallery when the pressure comes on but it leaves me concerned about sustainability - something he was keen to emphasise at the AGM.

“I have offers but I want to succeed at Barça,” he said.
“Now I am enjoying my vacation and when the time comes I will decide with my family the best for everyone.”

Update on Mina. How long are we going to wait for this guy ? The longer we wait the more difficult it will be to get players.
We will end up with Ben Gibson i think

Could this be Witsel all over again? If he is indecisive we better move on to other targets. How many days left till the closure of the window? 19...

I don't believe we've ever been in for Ben Gibson and if we ever were we have a totally different team dealing with transfers now so it's probably mute. I just don't think we want to be shafted over the price.

After a solid World Cup, Yerry Mina needs game time and to be at one of the biggest clubs in Europe, according to the player's uncle and agent.

Jair Mina admitted that, while a number of offers have landed at the Colombian's door, they are yet to consider them and discuss his future with Barcelona.

"If there have been formal offers from several teams for Yerry, from many countries and officially I know of Everton's, it is worth clarifying that I have referred them to Barcelona's agent, they will take note and then in time we will look at them," Jair told MARCA Claro.

"I always tell Yerry that to be great, he has to test himself at the biggest clubs, that's why he's at Barcelona."

Where Mina plays his football next season has been a big subject of debate and his uncle and agent pointed to the centre-back's contract with Barcelona as the key factor in his future.

"Yerry wants to play football, he hasn't asked me about any particular team," he continued.

"He wants to play football, but we are going to try to make it at a club where the player feels good and where he has the possibility of playing.

"We are clear on that line, but we cannot ignore that the player has a contract with Barcelona.

"This is just the beginning. We hope to have a pleasant conversation as we have always had with the people at Barcelona.

"The player is calm, his representatives are calm and we will try to get the best for him, considering that what he wants most is to play."

Brands and Silva have been given a budget to work with and if they want to exceed that they will have to raise funds from player sales. That’s their responsibility and they will be accountable for how the team performs. I think best to reserve judgement until the season starts.
