There's been as much talk of that London club as there has been Everton lately. It feels time to take the discussion of their transfer news to the "Other Teams Transfer Window" thread.

Let us enjoy the news of Everton's transfer dealings only in this thread:

Keep your head in the sand. Everything is fine, isn’t it?

No, but most of us recognised the debris from Hurricane Hamburglar was going to take a substantial amount of time to clear up. We do not have City or United money, we can’t just keep throwing millions at our problems to resolve them.

We do need players, of course we do. But we also have to be sensible financially. It was the reluctance to do that that got us into this mess in the first place.

I totally agree, lets focus on the role our new signings are going to perform within the first team set up.

So, are you saying we will finish 8th with departures from the squad and with no additions? Because if you are then that makes two major assumptions, the first being that the teams around us will not improve and the second being that the players we are left with won't decline in ability in that time frame. They seem like big assumptions to me and @Sir Alan 's prediction of 10th seems pretty reasonable in my opinion.

Thankfully, I think we will sign a small number of new players and this conversation will be moot.

Burnley will not repeat last season so that hypothetically bumps us up to 7th. Who below us last season do you honestly see with a better squad/manager than us? If you say West Ham I won't reply further.

the second being that the players we are left with won't decline in ability in that time frame.

Is this some kind of joke? How old do you think our starting XI will be?

I’d say it was Moshiri’s statements saying that we’ll never have money worries and Everton’s campaign that everything will change, implying we’ll no longer be bargain basement shopping, that has contributed to the restlessness of the fanbase.

We didn't have 'everything' last summer though. It was just a middle-of-the-road spending spree in the Premier League, most of which came from selling our best player.

West Ham are having a similar middle-of-the-road spending spree this summer. It's the type of thing that you expect from mid-table clubs like Everton, Leicester, West Ham, Palace etc.

I don't know whether their fans convince themselves that all of their expenditure is being met by their owners though, that might just be an Everton thing.

We were third in the league in net spend last year. So it's not the type of thing from a mid table club.

You make it seem like there aren't stats that back this up, like it didn't happen. It happened.

But the fanbase isnt restless.

On the main most people are willing to wait and see what happens, the fact that everybody jumps on your negative tosh highlights that.

Theres like 5 people crying on the whole forum, thats 5 people out of 30k people who are restless.

I imagine you sitting there thinking "These fools, they dont see what I see, they will all be sorry", honestly, have a day off mate, just 1 day, you will be much better for it, misery isnt healthy yano.

Not sure about that one Nymz but I know what you're getting at.

Lookman > Bolasie/DCL
Holgate > Williams
Coleman > Kenny
Siggurdson > Rooney (at 10)

Even if the players on the way are playing far more games in their correct positions than the ones on the right who were occupying them for most of last season then we’d improve without a single player being brought in.

Admittedly we do need 2 or 3 but I would hope improvement would be there even if we didn’t make any signings after so much under performance last season.
