Except that the only run of clean sheets we had last season came with him in the side. As soon as he dropped out it went back to being a couple of goals a game conceded.

So it wasn't that difficult to find given the low amount of clean sheets we kept last season...

He played in the 4-0 WH game. He played in the 2-0 Huddersfield game. He played in the 0-0 Chelsea game. He played in the 0-0 with West Brom. 4 clean sheets in the same sort of timeframe.

He also played when we got beat: 4-0 by Spurs, 2-1 by Bournemouth, 2-1 by Liverpool, 3-0 by Lyon around about the same time too.

And that's not a criticism, it's just from a point of neutrality. He has done nothing to suggest he's a top PL defender in the making. Hopefully he will this season.

Not really, I mean there was one small subset of 4 games, RIGHT when BFS first started, where he paired with Williams and there were 3-4 clean sheets.

But in reality it was probably just the new manager effect as both Williams and Holgate struggled to keep any clean sheets outside of that. Holgate kept 4 clean sheets in 1500 minutes, the much maligned Keane kept 7 clean sheets in 2500 minutes, about the same. In fact, once Williams finally went down for good, we kept 4 clean sheets in our last 9 games, so the real key was just keeping him off the field.

But the fanbase isnt restless.

On the main most people are willing to wait and see what happens, the fact that everybody jumps on your negative tosh highlights that.

Theres like 5 people crying on the whole forum, thats 5 people out of 30k people who are restless.

I imagine you sitting there thinking "These fools, they dont see what I see, they will all be sorry", honestly, have a day off mate, just 1 day, you will be much better for it, misery isnt healthy yano.

Believe it or not, Evertonians don’t only exist on this forum. The Evertonians I know, including family, friends and colleagues are ALL talking about our lack of transfer activity and it appearing to be that we have to sell before we can buy to raise the funds. We’ve had so much success with that policy in the past, haven’t we? It is a legitimate concern and one that is becoming more and more concerning with each passing day.

I work in Manchester and even the City and United fans are questioning why we aren’t doing any business, especially given the clear need for certain positions to be filled.

When do we say enough is enough? When we’re scrambling around in the last week having to panic buy?

The forum has people who want be seen as appearing blasé about our situation so they can jump on the posters stating the facts of our situation.

The people who are ‘cry-arsing’ or ‘bedwetting’ care a lot about the club and some posters would do well to realise that.

There is an ignore button that people can make use of if they can’t handle an opinion different to theirs. I have over the past week, makes the forum better for myself. Of course they’ll be taken off ignore when the transfer window shuts.

If it concerns you every single day, you need to find more things to be concerned about in life.

But there are those who want to genuinely debate? So debate!
