Give them the wedge and they'll come. European footy or not. The Chinese don't have Europe on offer and it's not holding them back.

Only guessing but I don't think Walsh, and in particular Koeman, were all that bothered about putting the effort in. Koeman is a guy that seems to think his reputation alone should have been enough.

We have already seen that Silva was instrumental in persuading Bernard to join. I also think Brands is a clear step-up from Walsh, he knows his stuff, and without knowing for sure, I think he comes across very well and represents the club well.

Although it’s not over yet, the last few days have given me some optimism. How ready we are for the start of the season I don’t know, probably not at all - but there’s a nice wave of excitement which will hopefully rub off on the players. Have faith in Silva, all the players interviews have been full of praise for him.
