Stubbs to replace Moyes?

Toccy is a weapon, nobody quote this, hes got me on ignore.

I would rather not prepare for the day Moyse leaves, he just needs a little but more cash, he loves it here at Everton, im not saying that if he got offered a really big job he wouldnt leave, but hes settled. Hes got a great group of players that hes shaping into his image.

Posted via Mobile Device Moyes aint going anywhere for a long time, he's putting his heart and soul into this job and wont quit until he has achieved his dream of establishing us as a top four side while also picking up some silverware along the way, he's here for the long haul lads and i for one could not be happier.

I always try to never think of the day Moyes went.

But if he were to go I would like to think the club could find a manager with proven qualities in the prem to continue the work that has been done. There has been a few teams who have suffered after losing a manager who had been at a club for so long. Just look at Bolton and Charlton.

If Moyes went I don't think Stubbs would even be considered. Steve Bruce, Slaven Bilic and Mark Hughes would be bandied about by the media. Some big european names like Lippi would be mentioned as well. Like one poster said I'd be happy with Martin Jol.

Not many former Evertonians working at a high level in management really is there? Hughes and Bilic are the only ones who come to mind, and they're hardly synonymous with the club.

Moyes isn't going anywhere so i don't even know why were suggesting names to replace him. Last week it's all 'This is a great time to be a blue' and then we have 1 bad off day and it's all 'Moyes is off to Man Utd'.

Get a grip! Total knee-jerk yet again by some people!

If Kenwright is still in charge should the dreaded day ever come, then we need to find someone who shares Moyes' background. At PNE, he had to compete and prove himself within a budget.

PNE was a good proving ground for much of what Moyes has seen at Everton. They couldn't match the resources of a Wolves or a Birmingham City. But they were successful and Moyes always found a way to compete.

Look for that manager who is getting it done within limited resources, particularly at The Championship level. I've got one eye on Clough at Derby. Ten years building Burton into a strong Conference level side without any big spending taking place. He's got a similar challenge with the Rams to the one Moyes had at PNE.

why the hell would we want a manager like jol? he had all the money he could ask for to spend and tottenham were still fairly ****e, managers like that don't think long term.

i would definitely be okay with hiddink, after seeing what he did with the socceroos and russia i think we'd be exactly the kind of team he could do a job with.

my first choice though, should the horrible day ever come, would have to be irvine. we can't forget the bad spell that occurred after he left, he obviously had a great repertoire with the players which is important, and i get the impression that he may have had a bigger impact than we realize.

if this does occur a few years from now, i would not mind having neville, or maybe even cahill at the very least on our managerial staff, if not head manager.

I'd give Arteta the job myself. You can tell from the way he takes corners that he'd be ace at transfer negotiations.

I love the way people think they can judge how good a manager somebody will be based purely watching them play football. They probably all saw Wenger play in the French 8th division 30 years ago and said "oh, he'd make a boss manager him".

Having said that, I've always thought that the best coaches are going to be the ones who made the most out of their talent as a player, rather than those who simply had natural talent (Keegan, Hoddle, Dalglish etc.) Big name players tend to get the big jobs out of the gate, but 15 years into the managerial careers and it's the lower league journeymen who are still standing.

So I'd suggest that Phil Neville/Alan Stubbs were more likely to make good coaches than Arteta or Pienaar - limited talent, but they get the most out of it. Having said that, there's a lot more to running an entire football club than just a bit of tactical knowledge, so both could turn out to be utter Southgate. We've got zero way of knowing.

1; Moyes will not manage the mancs ( least , not if asbo is still there )
2; Ive got more chance of managing us than Stubbsy , no offence though to our sock-robbing friend.
3; Alan , " The swerve " , Irvine , with young Phillip will be our next management team . Doesnt inspire massive confidence , but neither did the ginger fella .
4; Come on the 'ton .

What're you on?

He had Tottenham finish 5th twice in a row, once missing out on 4th on the last day of the season.

He also built a boss team, that played really nice football.

He's been great at Hamburg aswell.

I'd bite whoever offered him to us' hand off if Moyes left.
