This is true, and has just happened.

Mrs R buried her Dad a year ago today. We live in a place called Clapton in Gordano, and on her phone, the time is displayed against "Gordano".

Like "19.31 Gordano"

Just now, she went, OMFG!

Her phone showed the time as "19.32 Almondsbury" (About 10 miles away)

Guess where her Dad is buried?

Spooky

Exactly 1 yr after burying her father, the place where he was buried showed as Mrs Ray's location on her phone despite being over 10 miles away and her not having been there.

I think.

me 'n her rinsed it these last few days: from the off it was a marriage of sheltered virgins but who happen to have Spielberg and Stephen King as parents. On the whole enjoyed it: a worth-watching 6/10, but there's a fair few niggles:

- first two episodes are the weakest, would put off a fair few I reckon. Winona Ryder deffo gets more bearable so stick it out.
- the übercliché 80's-movie vibe is a detriment rather than a strength (70's & 90's were superior decades, culturally).
- 2 out of the 3 main kids were shouty annoying narcissists. The chunkier kid with the locks was great...what a grin! He's gonna go far.
- it all felt very inconsequential, unrealistic, unoriginal, sketchy and very much aimed at the younger audience.
- that nancy girl needs to eat something.
- too much emo guff about who's dating who and too much soppy muzak (bit like how that wet-flannel cover of Mad World almost ruined Donnie Darko).

but still managed to be entertaining enough to spur us on to the end. Highlights:

- i was gonna say Eleven's performance but her actress needs to stop that #RSforever cringe right now.
- the sheriff was a great character.
- in spite of sometimes-annoying characterisations, it was a mild thrill to follow the 3 boys on their adventure.
- the upside-down dimension was interesting, shame they didn't go very deep into it.
- love synths so really enjoyed the non-soppy musik.
- the subtle use of the distant clueless Dad was well done.
- when it got dark it approached greatness (Barbara and those Scanners-inspired moments in the finale).

- the white-haired bad guy wasn't fleshed out meaningfully enough for us to get to know his motivations or to feel repulsed/scared by him...all well and good being enigmatic but there has to be some pay-off for the build-up.

- why did Hopper betray the kids' location in the finale when he knew they would probably get killed? Seemed very out-of-character.

- speaking of emo guff, anyone else feel a little let down that Jonathan didn't get the dame after all? Damn you teen drama for getting me invested!

- so Eleven was the Monster and the Monster was Eleven, no?
