Only if they set it in the same town, with the same mythology. I'm saying they ought to do something utterly different with no reference to the first series.

Which would arguably put me off. I grew to like the current cast, location, in what only 8 episodes so, for me (and i'm not saying it's right or wrong), i'm glad they are going down this route. 8 episodes isn't enough to change everything.

Just as much risk doing something totally and completely different. What if it was bullshine? If it ain't broke, and it isn't, well you know the rest.

I suppose for me, it's quite rare these days to get fully closed out plots in one series, and I feel this was as close as you can get to that. There really felt like a resolution at the end, and any teasers or loose ends just allowed you to create your own ending. But I just don't feel there is enough loose ends to pick up on to create a second series.

But hey, I didn't write the first one so I look forward to being surprised as to how they take it forward.

Don't worry I do get where you are coming from of course. There's a risk either way really.

As you say, they did such a good job first time round, let's hope they can do it again. They seem to know what they're doing!

On continuing the existing story:

Regarding Eleven:

Matt Duffer has said to Varietythat “we like the idea of potentially putting her and Hopper together”, implying the two could pair up in Season 2.

If done right I think that this could potentially be great. I was expecting something similar with the cafe owner following Eleven's escape and was shocked (but impressed) with the direction the directors took instead. I still think it would work well with Hopper fulfilling that role with the additional investment we now have with the characters and their emotional baggage.
