Stones tells Everton he wants Man City transfer

It's hilarious the stages of emotions people go through when a good player wants to leave.

The best way to think about it is players are temporary. They will always leave.
I remember when pienaar left, people actually claimed he was no better than osman, and we would sign the one dimensional landon donovan and be better for it. We are in the large part supported by complete mutants, who need more going on in there lives as its only footy, its not personal

I recall Moyes saying fairly recently that he wasn't overly keen on signing Stones but a scout at Everton encouraged him to do so following rave reviews.

Does anyone know the name of this scout and whether he is still at the club?
Chelsea snapped him up I believe. Martinez let him go

Sections of our fans are worse than Kopites. It really is that bad.

Imagine them facing a real crisis, I bet they cry about it on social media before facing head on.

Donovan at the time provided a lot for us? One dimensional is harsh imo, he was pretty much our only player at the time I can remember playing a through ball!

Exactly

This need to try and paint Stones as not as good as he actually is, is a bit sad

He's excellent and it's a massive shame we're losing him as he's a brilliant player

We'll survive and move onward, as we've always done, but we're losing a cracking player

That being said, Everton is bigger than any player and always will be. Life goes on. I wish Stones well and look forward to seeing who we get to replace him

When you play under a manager who thinks not practicing set pieces and other aspects of defending, how do you expect a young inexperienced defender to improve?? Everyone can see what a fantastic player he will turn out to be with the right guidance.. YES Martinez was to blame for the lads poor form which led to him not getting into the England team and having a poor season with us! Arguably the 2 best managers in world football want to sign him (Jose and Pep) I think they can see like the rest of us that there's a fantastic player there!! Overrated haha
Im still absolutely gobsmacked that there is a manager who was getting paid 60k/week and literally and completely ignored one half of the game.

played one through ball, and was about half the player pienaar was, people just like to convince themselves otherwise, because when a player leaves they act like their first girlfriend has just left them, the sad sacks

No real update but......

A colleague lives is the same village as Stone's family and knows them relatively well...
I've been hounding him for a an update for while, anyway he spoke to Stones Mum this week, she was very vague and didn't give anything away but did say 'we will know by this time next week what is happening'.

Feel free to shoot me down - I am not by any means ITK.

Opinion divided on Stones. Potential to be absolute quality with the right type of Centre Back alongside him. He's a player I like very much even allowing for his 'flaws' right now. But, if he wants to leave and we're prepared to let him go at the right price, so be it. But, it has to be the right deal for us.

I thought Donovan made a big difference in the short spells he was here. He was certainly a better footballer than I expected, anyway.

It was great when him and Pienaar both returned on loan at the same time; one of Moyes' best window performances for me.

The true insult came when people claimed that Pienaar would easily be replaced by Bilyaletdinov.
