The good thing is that bitcoin miners are far more open and are also keen to clean up. Try telling a gold miner that they need to change - they'd grumble like heck because they'd have to close down lol

They would destroy the rainforest and pollute the river first though!

$1.37 billion in trade in narcotics on Hydra paid for in crypto in the past year (Hydra is a Russian dark web marketplace). Nothing to see here though.

And if I want some of the Colombian marching powder tonight I'll use cash to pay for it.

Point being, far more cash is used in the drugs trade than crypto. The only way to sort out the problem is by banning the use of cash completely. Something that I wouldn't be opposed to - I use plastic (and metal) 99.9% of the time anyway.

Maybe the solution is to outlaw cash, crypto and make coke the universal world currency? I'd love to see governments try and debase coke... aw, crap, wait. Nevermind.

I'd be happy to bring back a bartering system.

Happy to sell @LinekersLegs for some lovely steak.

But tbh, BTC transactions are not hidden. They are public and traceable. So if the authorities knew their arse from their elbow, they'd be able to ping it.
