Taylor described tonight on the radio as 'blood and guts' and 'a trier'. Not going to steam up the left wing from CB and whip in a great cross. Can't see him netting so many headers either. Bit underwhelmed to be honest.

Really pleased if we get Taylor - have always rated him, another Jag's in waiting I think.

Although I've a feeling that the fee, along with his wages will be ( another ) stumbling block.

Think we've agreed the fee, meant to be about 6m - now that would be ideal

He'll want 40-50k a week no doubt....

I sersiously didn't like him before too long ago, some of his antics like his handballs (then playacting) were embarrasing, but he certainly gives in 100% til the very end.....what we could have done with against Arsenal if you know what I mean

Anyway, that games over now........I think he would be a good buy, and off Arteta's corners and free kicks, I think we'd get any defender with a good head a fair few goals

Everton have agreed a £6m deal with Newcastle for centre-half Steven Taylor but the England Under-21 international's wage demands could be a stumbling block. (Daily Mirror)

Taylor has a choice.
Stay in the Championship and earn £50k per year, and let your career rot away unless someone else rescues you , or move up to the Premiership with the 5th best team, play European football, and possibly improve the team enough to make the top 4 but take a drop in wages.

For me it's a no brainer, unless he is only concerned about money.

Exactly. Stupid Geordie nobhead.

Villa chief O'Neill made a personal check on Wigan's Austrian star Paul Scharner at the weekend and is still keen on him if the price is right

Holy God but Scharner was absolutely dire on Saturday, hope we don't end up with him!
