Steven Pienaar

Needs to play more. He's exactly the player we need, much better than playing Cleverly or Osman on the wing. One of the only decent performers in a dismal showing from the team.

....I highlighted how ahead of his contract renewal Kone's form really picked. I don't know Kone and can't say it was a strategy but it is amazing how often this happens. I understand Pienaars contract is up in the summer.

Tbh Eggs, Pienaar has never performed badly as he's been injured. To have him back is a real plus. If he can stay fit for the rest of the season he can have an impact.

....I really rate the fella and agree that he could make a positive difference. The interest would be if that leads to a renewal contract or whether the club feel his injury record presents too much of a risk.

Should have played. An actual left midfielder unlike Osman and Cleverley.
after the performance he put in against swansea he most certainly should have been preferred to osman, he will get injured again at some point, it obvious when not injured he is still quality, so lets use him while we have him, and while the alternative is two lightweight crap central midfielders

As much as i think pienaar needs to be let go this summer i would love him to get a few games until the end of the season to prove me wrong on that.

the issue for me is more the lack of games and the increasing injuries as he gets older. It would be too much of a risk to offer him another contract on the wages he is on when in all fairness a chance to wind down his career elsewhere would benefit all parties.

Perhaps against Bournemouth play him and baines and give him an opportunity to turn up and see if he is still good enough over 70 minutes to still be here
