Coleman with Garner as a solid backup. Send Patterson on loan to a side he'll have the opportunity to start games if he can stay fit, hopefully under a manager who will teach him to play the position.
Exactly this he needs to get some games in and learn and not at the expense of us surrounded by crap if we had a better side I’d maybe not mind him slotting in at RB and learning on the job but we haven’t and he adds to a weak side saying that I’d rather see him play RB than mykolenko be anywhere near the team, put them both on the pitch and that’s quite a weak pair of full backs and exposed on both sides.

Hasn’t Calvert Lewin played there once ? Could be another option
Pickford too if I remember right, when we went down to 10 men. Standard tactics when I was a kid and a team was a man down , the old “ back and goalie” move . Yeah I know he’s left footed , but heh this is Everton we need to be thinking out of the ( penalty) box.

After James Garner starring for England U21's at rightback could we look to transistion to that position on a permanent basis or keep him in midfield? With the impending arrival of Ashley Young who played very well in Villa's late surge under Emery at right back or do we stick to a future Everton hall of fame player Coleman.

Lets vote people and see who we want at right back.
Garner will be Coleman's successor.

I've seen enough in his last 4/5 games to realise that. Positionally he's very good even at this stage, distribution almost flawless, can deliver crosses, aggressive in his challenges...and a throw in that's as good as a corner.

People who believe that's a waste of a MF player obviously dont understand the importance of FBs to the game.

We've been crying out for years for quality FBs as they are crucial to how teams play in the PL. We of all fans should recognise that.
