well i see the anti kirkby brigade are happy about this latest news.
well done, looks like your getting what you wanted.
now we have wasted millions (regardless of blame ) are no nearer a new stadium , have nothing in the pipeline , look an even worst investment and kirkby will remain a n area with poverty issues.
"careful what you wish for , you just might get it " could have been said to both sides and no matter what the outcome we were on a loser.
but by far the lesser of 2 evils was kirkby going ahead.
so what now keioc ,lcc and co ? or are you as i predict gonna realise there isnt much of an alternative and then get on kenwrights back (or kirkby council in the case of residents)?
i can get on his back just as much as the next angry fan but he must be sick of the "wa wa wa we want this , but we dont wont that , wa wa wa why havent i got anything " attitude of some fans.
Thing is, the fact of Planning being denied, or scaled down will have nothing to do with dissenting voices around EFC.
The Stadium is not the reason the development got called in, the size of the retail element is.
The Stadium isn't the reason that the development will only likely go ahead on a much smaller scale, the proposed retail and it's impact on other regional centres is.
KEIOC haven't called the development in, and they haven't canned it (whether they would like to claim credit for it or not).
But what they have done is warned that this was likely to happen for the last 18months.
So for anybody who wants to have a bit of a moan and a whinge about how much money has been wasted on this endeavour, they're probably the least deserving target - if the Club had listened, the money wouldn't be down the swanee.
I'm not that disappointed tbh, because I think the conditions and constraints placed on the Club and new Stadium would have made it difficult for us to gain any real return on the investment.
ah well, we've had 3 or 4 proposals in the last 10 years, lets hope the next is more suitable.
blues who against it, i will be blaming a corrupt LCC
