I wasnt advocating Jagielka being removed as captain. Just that i think Martinez had a 5 season plan when he joined and with 3 to go i imagine Jagielka may not be around then...

Also that each top side has 3 'captains' or 'leaders' on the pitch yet with us i think Stones and McCarthy are the only two. So when we are moving on a playmaker perhaps Martinez may also take this into account?

The list i made of players from dribblers such as Kinkladze/Juninho, deeper playmakers like Xavi/Pirlo and also to deep lying forwards like Bergkamp/Cantona each are all very different but are all focal points of their teams play.

Additionally all were captains of their club (at some stage).

So not only has Martinez got a major rebuilding job on his hands (see the list of players whose contracts run out next season).but also needs to find the right blend for our style in a playmaker and also a leader...

What do we do? The chap may be new to forums, he may be a WUM, or he may be bladdered. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt and allow a chance to explain.

As for my tuppence worth, I agree Jagielka may not be the most vocal captain, but imagine the confidence blow it'd give him if he was stripped of the role.
