Agreed, as did Jenas summing up on MOTD.Considering we somehow managed to get to half time only 0-1, that was good going. Spurs should have been out of sight by then. Credit to them. We were dire in the first half and struggled to string 2 passes together. A little better in the second. 3-2 flattered us. I don't get why Koeman broke up a winning system and team to shoehorn Barry in tbh. Kudos to Joel for some key saves, Ross and Rom. The rest need a kick up the proverbial after that first half.

I am giving my vote to Joel.
Without him we would have been beaten by a score which more accurately reflected the superiority of Spurs.
True and very sensible viewpoint. Can I just say that it was the manner of the defeat that was disappointing. The negative team selection and format. That scoreline was very flattering to us.Just keep in mind, White Hart Lane is the most difficult stadium to win at in the country. Sure, we didn't look good today, but I'm not sure you can point to any team (apart from Spurs, obviously) that has looked good there. They've outscored the opposition 44-10 there this season. This is not the fixture to be judging the season on.
They have let me down for more than 60 years. Even when we get rid of Koeman & Coleman it might be the same.I voted for no one.
Big game, chance to really make ground on those above and they where 2nd best.
Simply not good enough.
First goal he should have saved, second goal he gives to them with a poor pass.

No he didn't, was great today. Glad that a real manager has turned him into a powerhouse of a midfielder
First one wasn't a howler by any means but I think it's fair to say he possibly could have done better with the shot. I'd have said that about any keeper in the same circumstances, not just having a pop at Joel. However Kane should never have got his shot away. Barry has rightly taken stick for this but Gana seems to have gotten away with it completely. I thought he was very uncommitted in that passage of play which is most unlike him. Also Kane took it very early and Joel wasn't set which was probably why he was slow to react. I'm not a goal keeping expert so I'm not sure on his positioning either. He was outside the 6 yard box (again giving him less time to react) and I don't know if that was where he should have been or not.Not at all.
That first shot was as good as unstoppable.
And the second?
Schneiderlin sprints toward our goal showing for the ball....then him and Williams proceed to make a Hames of it.
But for Joel the scoreline would have been as embarrassing as the performance.

On the second one, I agree that Schneiderlin was probably more culpable, but again Joel cannot be absolved of fault here. He could see the bigger picture and probably shouldn't have made the pass in the first place. I bet if he was faced with a similar decision next week his actions would be different.
Ultimately, both were, in my opinion, relatively minor errors but the fact that both passages of play ended in goals has exacerbated the fan reaction, to the extent where it overshadows the otherwise very sound game that robles had. As you say, it could have been much much worse had he not come to our rescue on several occasions.
There's two things in particular that really pee me off about this. Firstly, the way robles had been made a scapegoat for both of the goals, whilst current favourites Gana and Schneids appear to come away unscathed, especially as Schneids was also arguably at fault for their third goal. The second thing is that lots of people are now calling for Robles' head. Every other keeper in the league has made worse errors than these this season, but you just know that they've all been waiting for Joel to slip up so they can get their digs in. The same posters have been strangely inconspicuous while he's been putting in all those clean sheet performances.

Ha. I specifically had that game in mind when I made that statement. Two absolute howlers. But he's still a world class keeper though.Great post.
And re other keepers making bad mistakes recently......look no further than Joel's opposite number yesterday.
His performance away to City was shambolic![]()

A Scottish goalie would have saved the first or a lively full-back would've cleared it. I thought Spurs were there for the taking. Not at all.
