McCarthy will come on for Barry. We will make heavy use of Coleman in this game, so maybe it makes sense to have three central midfielders. Davies and Barkley will play like makeshift wingers as necessary. I'm not a fan of starting Barry in most situations as it implies that our goal isn't to win the ball, but he can certainly pick a pass. Koeman probably wants quick counters.

And midfield to tidy everything up and bring us forward. Snides will sit in front of ash and mori to win the ball quickly and tidy up. Davies and Ross licence to roam.

Ander and vertonghen are fit which is annoying...

Far too defensive.

Bit disappointed with that line up. I can understand him going defensive but I'd have done it by going 3 at the back, with the WBs providing the width, rather than filling the midfield. Maybe that's his intention with Barry dropping in as the FBs push forward.

I like the line-up...all hard-working which is needed against this lot. Can't afford to have passengers today - ie Mirallas and too early for Lookman

Really odd, and I'd play McCarthy instead of Barry for the legs but then again he's more likely to spray a ball out to Ross or Tom than McCarthy is. Either way, its a very tough game and Koeman clearly knows it. COYB.

Davies is not a defensive midfielder. He will run with the ball and link with Ross which is always beautiful

Actually its often hard to guess what Ronald is up to but that is why he is a good coach, and if it doesn't work he changes it promptly..

My thinking also. He may also be thinking that he can have Barry sit infront of the back 2 and allow Coleman and baines to push up at times
