They love a high line with slow defenders. Get balls over the top to DCL

That appeared to be our tactic against Liverpool and It didn’t really work. Not saying it won’t work against these, although it did at home when we played them with Richarlisons goal, but hopefully we can utilise it a lot better!

So our issue now is with no Richarlison we have no pace to counter attack.

Iwobi won’t run in behind and James doesn’t for a reason.

Iwobi has to be less selfish and make those runs on Sunday
Gordon makes the most sense as a replacement if we’re trying to replicate the threat Richarlison brings imo. Although if Sigurdsson comes in for Gomes I can imagine Iwobi will come in for Richarlison as Sigurdsson will push forward more than Gomes, which suits both their strengths with Iwobi being allowed to cut inside into midfield more.

Think it would be interesting to see what Bernard/Iwobi could do as the playmaker in our midfield 3 tho. Bernard has looked class in that role in the cup albeit against poor opposition.

Still not sure what iwobi is. He seems like an overenthusiastic schoolboy who chases the ball all over the pitch but then can't do anything with it. Carlo however clearly sees something and trusts him so I fully expect him to play.

Personally I'd give Bernard a go, with the quality around I think he fits better and would thrive in a way he didn't as part of a poor midfield.

He is a progressive passer in the final third.

It will be interesting to see how our system changes, or if he will be expected to perform those same inside left runs as Richarlison to give Digne space.

I would like to see Nkounkou given a chance on the left wing, he's quick, can cross a good ball and links up well with Digne.
Might get in each other’s way with them wanting to make the same run down the flank every time tho. Although Nkounkou does seem to have the dribbling ability to drive with the ball past players and into the box.

When looking for team news, I noticed the red echo are running a story about 'Conk Tosun'. If they want to mock him for something about his appearance, then surely it has to be the old hair in a can??

I understand what you are saying but I think it could be a good thing so when one of them goes forward the other one can cover in defence.
