The only like-for-like Richy replacement in the entire squad is Gordon but we all know he probably won’t even make the bench. Wouldn’t if he’s porked Carlo’s relative.
He seems to be trusting Iwobi at the moment who's done well recently TBF

For these 3 games I wouldn't mind Delph coming in for Gomes and having Doucoure pushed further forward.

With Delph and Allan covering defensively give Doucoure licence to drive forward with the ball which is something we have been missing in midfield since Barkley left.

When Pearson moved him further forward last season he looked top class.

Think you'd struggle to find a Watford fan that agrees with you there. He was playing as a number 10 at times, which obviously doesn't suit his game.

Up next for Octobers title-winning blues its the boys from Saints FC.

Can Carlo and the boys grab another 3 points and cement our place at the top, tune in.

Goats 11 to start :

Pickford
JJK - Mina - Keane - Digne
Allan - Gomes - Doucs
Hamez - DCL - Iwobi
Life is that good it will be 1-3 with Iwobi getting two!

Might prove to be a blessing that Richy is out for a while: should see his injury problem properly overcome.

I'm happy to trust whatever team Carlo chooses to put out. Doesn't need a genius to guess that he'll be as keen as any of us on the good run continuing & he seems to know a bit about futbol.

If the team fail to win by a margin of 5, then he's definitely a fraud who should be hounded out of the country.

Fickle? Moi?

In a 4231 he was as you say a lot further forward but the current system we play I think he doesn't burst forward as much as he's wary of Gomes' lack of pace/mobility if we lose possession and get hit on the break.

I think someone like Delph who is a bit more defensively minded could sit further back with Allan and allow Doucoure to burst forward more without needing to constantly race back.

Dont think Carlo will change it which is fair enough but just think Gomes offers little at the moment and does the same as Siggurdsson in the passing sideways and back.

southampton are a strange team. if their gameplan works they're usually quite good but it often backfires on them. all their center backs (stephens, vestergaard, bednarek) are good defensively but slow, but hasenhüttel insists on a high line. since they're at home (although it barely matters with no fans) it should be easier to hit them on the break, richarlison would have destroyed these with his pace and agility
