I expect us to win, I think we're a better side than Southampton with better players and I think we're fully focused on the league this year and I'm expecting a good season.

We did ok at times last week and were the better side against a Watford who also played well on the day but results like that happen on the opening week, it happened at a lot of places.

With a bit of fine tuning on that performance, I think we should edge a tight game tomorrow.

I'm not on for quoting my own posts, I've never done this before but it's good to see that me and Robertos dream believed.

Funnily enough - and I said so right after the game - I didn't see this as a confirmation of anything other than what we already know: give this team any sort of space to run at you and you'll get steamrollered by them.

The opposition have to get tighter at all times in order to stop that happening. Away from home and against the elite squads we'll get that opportunity; unfortunately we (right now) still have the major problem of breaking teams down at Goodison (which is where the bulk of dissent is found) and that only improves by signing a player capable of unlocking defences (and also - if that playermaker is off form - a different type of striker than Lukaku...someone who can grab half chances and get in the faces of defences to shake them up - possibly someone like Austin).
Didn't KONE ddo that last week

Yes, which is fair enough. But I wouldn't rely on him a) staying for or b ) hitting consistent form.

I do hope there's no doubt in Martinez's mind after the last two Kone performances that it'll save him going into the transfer market. That would be folly, imo.

That bothered me as well. You'd think since he can play winger too that he'd basically be on the bench no matter what unless something was wrong.
I think we had two wingers on the bench, and in an emergency Barry could slot in for Galloway if he was injured at LB.
