Never sen any footage of it, do you have a link?

I saw it about 3 months ago at the end of something else, the bit where you get the screen divided into 16 other 'similars' to view. Tried searching a few hours ago but to get the right answer you have to ask the right question... but it is out there and Young was probably offside.
The BBC were there, I remember seeing the outside broadcast vans in Goodison place
Maybe Pathe News archive??

Does anyone else remember that brief shining moment, when Tommy Ring mesmerised everyone, for far too few games, until a broken leg at Chelsea broke the spell. For just a short while, Goodison Park was Camelot.
I do Steve i started going in 1958-59 my dad took me he was a red, he was taking me to Anulfield the week before but something went wrong and we did not go. I kicked up a fuss and he took me to GP the next week, as soon as i walked in that was it a blue for ever.
Tommy Ring became my hero in my early years.

Bet your old man was made up.:)

BTW Tommy ring was an ace winger.

Think he only ever missed one pen at main road(Man City Od ground) we played Man U in the charity shield, we being the champs it was played at GP,we had a pen Roston scored and the ref made him take it again, in fact it was retaken 3 times, everyone just inside Gaskill's right post,it said in the Echo the next day that Gaskill gave the ball to Royston after the 2nd attempt, and asked him where he was going to put it ? Royston replied same place. Which he did, he was lightening over the first ten yards, which seemed to give him the edge, great player, and marvellous understanding with The Golde Vision.

My older brother reminded me of Royston Vernon as he got his autograph outside Goodison road on matchday his fingers were covered in nicotine { he was a heavy smoker} - { from HC autobiography} When Catterick found out when signing him he had him in the office , and Vernon lit up - Catterick told him to put his ciggie out , and warned him he would have none of it in the future as the door shut on Vernon leaving He heard a match strike immediately!lol
Roy Vernon - my brother tells me was as thin as wire with a shot like a bullet, and his favourite trick when one on one was to dribble around the keeper and pass in in to the open goal.
On pens in relation to the KM incident - My brother related to me in a FA cup tie at Elland Road v Leeds who were in the old 2nd division were winning 1-0 - we never looked like scoring , and in the closing minutes we were awarded a legitimate pen.
The Captain at that time was fullback Alex Parker grabbed the ball of Vernon , and fluffed it straight at the Leeds Keeper - luckily the Ref spotted encroachment into the box , and ordered it to be retaken - Vernon grabbed the ball back of Parker gave him a mouthful, and slotted it home for a replay.
Another funny tale from the HC autobiography, when Vernon was past his best for us was when Stoke wanted to sign him. He was not at home so they telephoned HC , and he told them which night club he was in and the did the deal in the toilet of the night club!
HC new what a tremendous asset Vernon was to the team he overlooked his strict disciplinary rules with him as he was so good Alex Young, and he were a tremendous combination scoring goals for fun!
He was a massive player for us was Royston Vernon !

Alex 'Chico' Scott was quite well built, from my memory. A bit of a 'get your head down and charge' type of winger but very good at that. We had alot of very good players in those days...Alex Parker the best full back in the League...brilliant at 'standing off' the winger and guiding him like a sheepdog into a corner were he had nowhere to go. A great tackler, but didn't have to tackle that much because of his superb positional play. You rarely see the like in the game today. Labby of course, and Young and Vernon. It was a mistake to move Bobby Collins on, but to my mind Dennis Stevens became an unsung hero, doing the graft and taking the knocks to allow the 'big names' to do their stuff. Does anyone else remember Bobby Collins backheeled goal at the Park End? Brilliant. Best individual goal I ever so at GP was Jimmy Haris...picked the ball up near the Park End corner flag(Paddock side) and ran the length of the pitch, beating everyone, before slotting in from the corner of the Street end penalty box. Would love to see footage of that...but in those days, you usually had to be at the game, because all you had afterwards was the memory.
Christ Steve you must be even older than me and I'm nearly 70! Great memories from a fabulous time for our great club.
By the way spent most of my married life in Ashton but now exiled to Cheltenham to be near the daughters, so only see the lads on tv now.
