So, we need a Striker....

The worrying thing for me, is we have proven Premiership strikers.

Saha scored 15 goals last season, and Yakubus record when he plays and is confident speaks for itself. Cahill - no more needs to be said and throw Beckford into the equation who has proved when he gets an opportunity, he can kick that ball in the net.

Which suggests to me, it's a deeper managerial issue.

Know what ??? I KINDA asked a certain person the same thing last night ???

I would like an answer on the whole , WHY IS YAK , when we've been OPENLY AWAITING HIS RETURN FOR OVER 12 MONTHS - ALL OF SUDDEN JETTISONED FOR A STRIKER WHOM DOES NOT STRIKE , thing ???

Even if it's . Hush-Hush , Q.T. , Taps Fukn Nose ,.. Whatever .

I , WOULD LIKE AN ANSWER , Please .

That aside ; I'm down with Ginger .

Communication is the issue here . That , and time . Heitinga WILL GO . Moyes WILL attempt to get a Striker PLUS Landy . WHOM remains , however , is ANOTHER issue altogether ....

I love the broken bones of the lad, there is nobody I want to see make it more than him, but ive given up hope, he has all the tools, but his main strength is his biggest weakness, hes fearless and his body cant handle it.

Plus hes so unlucky, hoping it changes tho.

Some players grow out of their earlier career injury proness. Still hope Vaughan will be one of them. I'd absolutely love for him to succeed at Everton. Probably my 3rd fave Everton player, after Cahill and Arteta.

Moyes clearly doesn't rate the Yak any more. If a decent bid had come in during the Summer instead of the pittance West Ham offered he wouldn't be here.

Personally, I think there's a massive fitness issue with Yakubu who looks absolutely gone after 50 minutes of a game whenever he plays. I believe that's the problem Moyes has with Yak.

I also don't think he's 28 but that's neither here nor there.

I agree with a lot of whats been said really, Saha apart, we have strikers who can play football, baffling why the worst of our 3 strikers keeps getting a game.

Saha is a proven top quality striker though. But it's quite clear to me he can't be arsed in the slightest in playing for Everton right now. That's either because he's content sitting on his massive contract and he's done with competitive football, or he's completely disillusioned with the Moyes system of 4-5-1.

I'd just like to see our current crop of strikers used properly.

Namely;

Yakubu played as an actual forward instead of a beefy target man to hit from 50 yards when nothing else is on.

Louis Saha encouraged to "goal hang" and sniff out goalscoring opportunities in and around the box like he's done successfully his entire career until he joined Everton.

Beckford used as part of a front two partnership, and given game time instead of 20-25 minute cameos in a struggling team. Either have faith in the lad or don't use him at all.

In short, David Moyes doesn't know how to use a striker, as he doesn't know how to play positive football.

Name one successful striker during Moyes' reign? The fact our star player is an attacking midfielder who scores from set pieces and raids from deep tells you everything.

BOOM! HEADSHOT 2!

He just doesnt care anymore.

And yet hes still allowed to wander around the pitch in an Everton shirt, if I didnt love Everton so much I would web him in the teeth next game.

Dont you think it'll cause a bit more disharmony if Moyes gets a striker because, basically, his other 3 are [Poor language removed] in his eyes, big man?

Was trying to think of a championship striker who could do a job for us....no luck there.

Tried to think of a decent foreign striker we could nab on the cheap. Nope. Nothing.

Prem strikers. Too expensive.

We are screwed.

All three class finishes!

James Vaughan! James Vaughan! james Vaughan!

I remember his overhead kick against reading from outside the box and that was ace. I remember he was willing to play with a bleeding foot! I believe in James Vaughan but I fear that David Moyes may not.

Surely one of them will be sold tho, so it won't be a huge shakeup. Yak is probably gone to be honest, unless there's some ridiculously unlikely reason why he's not playing.
