Vaughan may have demonstrated that his body is up to playing week in, week out at Palace but, his hattrick aside, he's hardly looked much of a goal threat. Maybe it's worth giving him a month in a 4-4-2 while Cahill is away to see if there's any merit to it? As much as I like him, my fear is that he's not going to make the grade.
The Guardian described Saha's performance on Saturday as playing statues. Moyes says that he sees enough in training from him for him to deserve to start. Interestingly, Saha has had more shots on target (32) than any player in the Premiership without scoring. Perhaps he will come good once he gets that first goal? Ten months is one hell of a drought though.
Who knows what's going on with Yakubu. Against Liverpool he looked strong and sharp. Normally Moyes would throw both Beckford and the Yak on, but in the last few matches there has been no sign of the big Nigerian. Surely you alternate between your two established strikers until one of them catches fire?
Fingers crossed, Beckford will settle down and stop snatching at chances once he realises that we have no alternative but to play him. If Elmander can top the goalscoring charts, I don't see why Jermaine can't.
I stick by my suggestion of loaning Bendtner in. He's made no starts and only five substitute appearances for Arsenal in the league, even with Van Persie being sidelined. He's got all the attributes we're looking for an a point to prove to Wenger. His team mate Vela is interesting with regards to his pace and movement. We'd have to play him in a two though, alongside a big man. We won't adapt that much to accommodate a loan signing.
