I was wondering if the US were planning on leanin on Israel today when I read the Israelis had been "testing" missiles.

No, they won't want Israel leading anything because that would unify the rest of the Arab countries. Probably just a precautionary/I've got big toys test that also sends a big message to Damascus......

not sure who described Russia/China as being "big scary people", but I'm well aware of where they stand in terms of military capability, and for anyone that gets involved (whether they like it or not) in this particular conflict...I'd be worried.

If you're not worried then fair enough. But unnecessary deaths worry me. If the 2 countries mentioned get involved, there will be a lot more people dead.

The worry for the US now is that any "targeted attacks" will be relatively futile because Assad has had about a month to prepare for any attack. Added to the fact that Russia will defend them diplomatically at the very least, I can't see gow USA don't get drawn into "extending operations."

2) why would Russia show to the world that their military is so defunct and so far behind the west. What's in it for them

3) you have still not stated what their capabilities are

4) Britain and Russia have the capabilities to wipe each other out. The US has the capability to wipe Russia out 100 times over

5) Britain has the capability to wipe out China, China does not have the capability to wipe out Britain.

6) why would they get involved, again. What is in it for them, prestige ( not a lot of good when you are a burning wreck),

Again, a good point. The US have already said that they have trained, via the CIA, one or two brigades of fighters, and this sounds a bit like what happened in Vietnam, scope creep even before the first shot.....
