I've witnessed nothing but misery as an Evertonian, so for that reason when we are successful it'll be 50 times better than anything a Man United or Chelsea fan could feel.

Just finished above the ****e man

your right tho. They can never understand our joy

City, United, Chelsea, Spurs and Liverpool will all hit a lull one day, due to the nature of their ownership and investment and then it will be time for a new cycle of investment to come through and I believe we will see ourselves in that group, especially as the world comes out of a recession(hopefully). the best thing for us in the meanwhile is to stay in a position where we are an established top 8 side, who only need a bit of investment to really push on and not do anything stupid a la Sheff wed, Leeds and Portsmouth in the meanwhile.

While that was a great feeling it was nothing compared to the utter devastation I felt after we lost to them in the semi. Genuinely didn't say a word for at least 3 hours after the game. We went to eat in a restaurant and I just pointed out what I wanted and got my dad to order for me.

Bloody hell Everton.

One day...

Honestly doesn't it seem if we can put together ONE year where we continue our success against the top teams AND find a way to beat the lesser teams (especially at home), we can put ourselves in a position? One magical year where everything falls into place would set us up for years to come.

One season soon we're going to start in August like everyone else and finish top 4.

It's not that farfetched. We know what kind of football we're capable of playing, we do it every year from January on. Consistent form over the course of one season, and we could finish top 4. Then get into the groups stages of CL, and use that money to keep investing in the squad and why not?

If Fox is right about Rooney coming back in a few years time...

Keep the faith blues. I remember when we played Coventry at home in front of 13k, Howard's head was on the block.
And then.....................

Pretty much the same as this, although I was alive when we last won a trophy I wasn't even 1 so I have no memories of Everton winning anything.

I think it was a Wednesday night early April 1970. 58,000 of us celebrated under the lights at GP beating West Brom and picking up the title. The pitch was full at the end and I took a little piece of the turf (I know, I know) home with me. Seen some great games and seen the blues pick up a fair few trophies, but that night was the best by a mile and probably the best Everton team I've ever seen...

aha
I too was at that match.I often think about which would be the best team with a mixture of that and the mid 80;s team and find it very difficult to differentiate between the two players in most positions.
Bally and nev are deffo's tho.
Two wonderful teams
