Smokebombs/Flares

Flares and smoke can be boss, but I don't think they should be set off during a match (because people are idiots). And never in a wooden stand.

A deffo no no, might be alright in the hands of sensible folk out in the open......well, you get the gist (n)

Some fellah next to me had a lighter in his pocket. I was s*itting myself in case the stand went on fire.
Think some people need to lighten up. Sound like right Victors.

Smoke bombs, yes.
Flares, no.

To be honest though, they look ****. Unless its only a small photo or your right by the smoke it looks awful, proper small. Pathetic actually haha!
Our fans were on of the first in the country to start off the smoke bombs the other season though, but united are the ones who've always done flares.
If there's a smoke bomb or 2 on Tuesday at arsenal by me I won't be too fussed it looks decent but swerve flares lads FFS.

Although, as Keith Lard once said "There's no smoke without fire"

I/m in my mind thirties and i have to say, i'm all for it. That said i wouldn't want one set off next to me!

It did add to what was already a great atmosphere on the day all health and safety issues aside. I don't think anyone got arrested for that. The stewards at spurs were a good bunch i thought.

Love dry ice at gigs, not such a fan of smoke where being able to see is the point. Wasn't all that arsed when the one at the youth game went off a few seats away from me, but on another day at a better attended game (i.e. where I'm less able to just move away if I want to) that's panic attack territory. Hyperventilation coupled with dodgy smoke isn't really my idea of a fun day out. My boyfriend's not really fussed about going to Goodison (doesn't follow football, legs not really up to the whole terrace thing) but he can't be the only one where a smoke bomb would mean an asthma attack any day of the week.

Flares and such do look pretty cool on the TV or from across the ground, just not sure how you do that sort of thing without potentially ruining the game for someone. Maybe we need a pyro section to go with the singing and standing ones?

People forget that smokebombs are still a firework, and use a chemical reaction to to burn and let off the smoke. You only have to look at the Bradford City fire to see how dangerous something like that can potentially be.

For those who don't know of this, here's a link to the video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7krsXDKrTqI I won't embed the video as its not something everyone would want to watch as its not easy too at times

Oh god remember watching that; absolutely horrific.
