Sky TV fixtures announcement

I'm not against Friday Night games in spirit, so long as the fixtures chosen are reasonable

For instance, it's not reasonable to make people trek up from Watford on a Friday night for a game at Goodison. It's too far and requires a day off work and also either an overnight stay or forcing people to leave the game early to make a train or making people drive home for hours late at night. None of these situations are agreeable in my opinion

If games are to be played on Fridays, then there should be a rule that the teams picked should be no more than a 4 hour round trip from each other in a car (2 hours there and 2 back)

So I'm fine with the Manchester sides playing Stoke, Merseyside teams playing Burnley, Southampton playing Arsenal, Bournemouth playing Spurs, Watford playing Chelsea etc

What I'm not fine with is making Liverpool fans travel down to Chelsea, or Southampton fans travel up to Manchester on a Friday night. It's massively anti-supporter in my eyes and a complete slight to the match going fan

Too much common sense in this for it to be considered by Sky or the Premier League. If you look at the fixtures for the weekend of our Watford game none of them should be considered for a Friday night game:

Bournemouth v Burnley
Crystal Palace v Hull
Everton v Watford
Man City v Leicester
Middlesborough v Southampton
Stoke v Arsenal
Sunderland v Swansea
Spurs v Man United
West Brom v Chelsea
West Ham v Liverpool

Match-going fans, particularly away ones are bottom of the list for consideration by Sky and the football authorities. It would be good to see fans getting together to try to get something done about it.

I doubt you'd get much bother if we played Burnley on a Friday night tbh, nor if we played west brom
I can actually recall us playing Burnley on a friday night, near the end of the season 1974-75 think it was as the Grand National was the next day, we were going for the title that year and majorly cocked up in grand Everton style, lost two games to relegated Carlisle, away to also relegated Luton,Sheff Utd,all from winning positions, the Burnley game we led through Latch until late on when baldy, old grandad looking Peter Noble notched an equaliser for the ferret fiddlers:rant:lol(Let it go Dariolollol)

That's a fair enough attitude - but Monday night games set a far worse precedent.

Most people have to work on a Tuesday, at least with Friday there's scope for a lie in if you get in late.
I hate Monday night games, I like my football on a weekend not at the start of the week. Would much prefer it at the start of the weekend and as mentioned at least you can have an ale and a lie in as opposed to Monday when your home sober, shattered and straight to bed ready for work

Spurs Man United would be grand for man united"fans" on a Friday sure.

How would anyone in the ticket office know this though?

I hope it stays on the Saturday, flights already sorted Same boat as you mate. Flights booked but also heard ticket office told lads moving to Friday. Not had any update but at this stage of the season it would be a very meaningless game for sky. !

I hate all this TV moving games fuss. In Germany every game is on TV and you know 6 ish weeks in advance which slot your game will be in. I want to go to the watford game but i cant go on Friday or Sunday. Therefore tickets being onsale now really is a problem, as i cant commit yet. Not in the real foolball fans interest. urgh - rant over

Very frustrating. We all know how it works but forgot Watford game was not confirmed date as arsenal being last game was set in stone ... booked flights based on this so my own fault but annoying as can't go if Friday and money gone .. rant over as well

I dont live in NW any more and going to games has to be planned in advance. not flights however so every sympathy. Still Watford, why on earth would they want to pick that game? still have to wait as i dont wish to throw money away. Ive booked hotel as can be cancelled, but tickets i need to know date
