OK, six wins:

Home
Fulham
Charlton
Portsmouth

Away
Sheff Utd
West Ham

Leaving one win from:
Arsenal (H)
Villa (A)
Bolton (A)
United (H)
Chelsea (H)

Not as easy as it looks, especially if we draw any of our banker wins. Puts the Spurs loss in perspective...

Agree not sure on banking six wins from them but if we are to look to Europe we need to. How about 5 wins and 3 draws?

I worry about Pompey with Sheff Utd away as a close second. Those are the games we have to win and demostrate why we are superior. If we don't then it becomes extremely difficult for us to entertain a European venue at some time next term. I still see us surprising a Notlob or a Villa. hat would be icing on the cake.(y)

Always struck me that Fulham can be a bit of a bogy with all the ex-evertons there. They will be just foaming at the mouth to get at us.

it's not going to be easy but it's not impossible either, so we are talking about 60 points, if we can get to that total then we bloody deserve to qualify.

I had a go on the BBC score predictor thingy where you put the scores in for every match from now til the end of the season. This is how it finished.

Now I factored in the normal loss of interest that the Everton team has at the end of the season, plus the tough games we have, so although 9th is an improvement on last season, it's obvioulsy not good enough.

I sit back in the hope that Everton finish strongly for a change.

I hope your prediction is better than mine. I was shocked at the outcome of mine, but it shows we have one of the hardest run ins.

The one most important thing in all of this is that we, the fans, back the players and manager to the hilt in their efforts. All those boo boys should shut the f--- up, if you want to protest do so at the end of season but between now and then get all your arses behind the club and we will deliver:angry:

Exactly monts. What the bloody hell is booing going to achieve?

No one wants Arteta to leave but if you were him would you want to turn out at a ground where the fans booed the manager and players to that extent, I wouldn't I'd be off home at the drop of a hat.

I would never boo at a game. Nor would I ever leave early. Ok I've only had the opportunity to go to one game in 20 years (Fulham away this season) and was amazed at the amount of people who left 10 minutes early. Only takes a second to score a goal. Pretty sad.

I don't think we'll need 6 wins to be honest as history shows that teams traditionally stumble over the closing months of the season. You only have to look at the season we finished 4th. Our form over the 2nd half was pretty poor but no one else put together any kind of run either and we clung on.

Portsmouth and Reading are already slipping. Bolton have had a blip and Newcastles form isn't great either. Indeed if you look at the form guide over the past six games it reads thus:

Reading 13pts
Everton 11
Newcastle 10
Bolton 8
Spurs 7
Pompey 5

Indeed we are already 6th on current form. Newcastle have lost two of their last three so I don't think they'll make any late charges, especially as they're six points behind us already.

Another thing in our favour is our defence. In terms of clean sheets only Chelsea and Liverpool have kept more and it's defence that is important at this time of the season. We also have very few injuries to key players, with only Valente out of the first choice eleven. So all in all I'm very confident that we'll be in Europe next season.

Strikes me as vital to get a rsult from Bolton & Portsmouth other wise they will move up at our expense so those games become the proverbial 6 pointers. At the same time we need our competitors to lose points so it is not just about us getting 6 wins but how they will fare. Now does anyone know what the other run ins are like for our nearest rivals.
