Sir Landon Of Donovan

All this desire for this player is not going to solve our problems, as our main problem is strikers. Anyone for Bob Latchford?

I kept saying that, but then I thought, in that spell we had last season when we were consistently in the top 3 or 4 in the form league... what big name striker did we have then?

If you think back, we were getting goals from all over the pitch; Pienaar, Donovan, but mainly Arteta and Cahill. Combine that with the lack of pace and movement we've shown; what Landon excels at, then it's not hard to see that Donovan did make a big difference.

LD can play striker, but he's probably better off on the right, giving us width.

I understand that, but will Moyes utilize him in the right way is the question.

Not saying he is not effective, and his pace would be great. Just think we may be putting just slightly too much pressure on the lad.

We're definitely putting too much hope and expectation on his shoulders, but what else do we have to look forward to?

He is our only hope, sadly.

The Oracle's keen eye puts the "Eye of Sauron" to shame at times. From my vantage point in the Upper Bullens, you get a very panoramic view of our game, which allows you to see certain players postioning and commitment to the cause.

I.E : You get a good perspective of Saha not running the line and Beckford's very frustrating bad timing of runs. But it's Landon's footballing brain that was there for all to see last season. You could from our seats, see his next move way ahead of any defender - something sadly teams are adjusting too now that we ONLY utilise the left wing these days and Seamus for all his boyhood enthusiasim, still runs into alot of blind alleys when he forgets to see the play around him. But, it will come in time.

Landon's ALL ROUND game , can and will not only help Everton but it will lift the fairly quiet crowd of late. The last player who mae my heat physically RACE when got the ball and you got that feeling 'Here we go.. go on lad" was a young Wayne Rooney, when he got the ball the team, the crowd and everyon'e expectation rose tenfold - Landon, like no other player in our team today, does that, for me at least. It's an element we are sadly lacking these days and that little spark may just reignite our season once more :)
