I'll add to the "shut up Grant Wahl" brigade. I hope Lando told him nothing at lunch. Did GW know about last year's deal ahead of time? How close are they - anyone know? Sigh. One day up, one day down...

Wahl wrote "The Beckham Experiment" which, among other things, had a few choice quotes from Landon about Beckham that caused a big riff between them. I'm thinking (hoping) that Landon learned his lesson about talking to Wahl and was feeding him the same old drivel that he feeds to everyone else. b)

This is exactly what I was hoping for.
Part of me was wondering if (since he was part of the bid) LD may have been delaying making a decision before the world cup decision for political reasons. When you are trying to make something look strong and desirable, don't announce that you are leaving it for a "better" option the week before the decision...

So Landon, the WC decision is made, both US and England lost, now you just get to make your decision, free of any other pressure (save maybe the rumored scandal). And short of the scandal being LD (literally) in bed with Rafael Benitez and Stevie G, I'd still like to see you bombing down the right flanks in that blue #9 again...

I don't think Landon shares anything of importance with him. I don't think Grant Wahl has "broken" any major news for LD before.

Oh wait...LD did give him (sports illustrated) that little tidbit about "I may have fathered a child while in Liverpool" right after the loss to Ghana at the WC.

But still, I don't think LD is in close with Grant on his decisions. In fact, I don't think LD shares too much "inside" knowledge with the press anymore. He's learned his lesson.

Ooh, I love this. I'm so disappointed today after the WC news....this begins to raise the spirits once again.
