Single malts

Bit late to the party on this but for a very decent price you might want to consider the Arran 12 year old. Cracking drop at a fraction of the price of similar quality whiskies. Goes down very easily and not overly smokey in flavour or taste.

Got given a bottle of their 10yo by my dad last year when he went to the Isle Arran and did their distillery tour. Wasn't overly impressed with it, it was OK like.

That's a decent price for a cask strength whisky though, and a couple more years maturation as well as being at cask strength probably make for a much better drop.

To be honest mate there's no comparison between the two. I agree on the 10yo, not a particularly great drop but the 12yo is so much more. For about 40quid a bottle I thoroughly recommend.

On another note has anyone tried this? I've seen some reviews and it's supposed to be a nice tipple, before I buy myself a bottle I wondered if anyone has tried it?

There have been a few posts on this thread all saying it's gorgeous.

Mmmm... please let us know your thoughts. I love The Balvenie DoubleWood 12. If this a step up will go to it next when my bottle ends ;)

Fabulous drink that mate, I've hammered 3 bottles in the last couple of years.

Ok got my bottle yesterday and tried tonight for the first time....cracking stuff! Got a lovely after taste of cinammon and fruit. Not too rich and a lovely gold colour. Nice and impressed!
