Single malts

Tried this last night.

Never encountered this before. Very nice, fruity, amber Speyside. Comes in at just over £30 on the Whiskey Exchange, good all rounder, and a good shout for a gift that's safe in terms of flavour but a little off the beaten track.

Passing through Stanstead Airport about a month ago was offered a tasting session, ended up buying this one, I've had a couple of nips and it's good stuff. I usually go for the Islay malts but fancied something different and it hasn't dissapointed.
Call it classic placebo, but you can't convince me a fine single malt doesn't taste even better when packaged in a sexy bottle. :D

Had another try of Bushmills 21 I got last month. Initially I didn't think it was worth the money but that could have been down to me it seems. I thought it was much too sickly sweet, however last night I reduced the amount I held in my mouth to just a tiny sip and suddenly the overpowering sweetness was gone and I could really enjoy it.

Going to have to see if that is the same for the bottle of Bunnahabhain 18 I have which was also just a sherry bomb to me when I tried it last.

I didn't think I was taking huge mouthfuls before but with whisky less could really be more.

I got a bottle up in dalwhinnie last year. It was a random from the whiskey shop. I really really like it..
